From side control it is important to keep the near side arm’s elbow off the mat and on your hip. Matt Darcy demonstrates how to intercept the far side arm to be able to clear the way when kicking over. For the armbar post near your opponents legs, clamp your knees together to secure the arm. For the triangle you will swing the leg all the way around the opponents head and grab your shin before rolling so that its already in deep.

Stack Pass Defense To Triangle
For the defense Matt Darcy spreads his legs wide and heavy to prevent your legs going up on his opponents shoulders. He then walks his shoulders backwards to get his feet on the hips. He hips out, circles one leg in, and shoots his triangle.

Legal Or Illegal?
For this technique Matt Darcy shows how to pull off a very sneaky triangle choke when someone is in stack pass position. However, do not try this in any IBJJF tournements because it is illegal and will result in a DQ.

Troubleshooting The Triangle - Part 2
Matt Darcy shows another troubleshoot adjustment to finish the triangle called the “Scape and Chop.” Using his forearm he scrapes his opponents head into the inside of his knee and then finishes off an space that might be left with a few chopping motions with his leg.
